Tire City was truly a cornerstone of the Savannah community. For 27 years, it served not only as a mechanic shop, but as a gathering place where individuals from the neighborhood hung out, shared stories, and caught up with one another. Tire City fostered a genuine sense of camaraderie among both patrons and employees. Whether someone was dropping off a car for a routine check or simply stopping by for a chat, the shop was always buzzing with life.
February 2024, Tire City closed its doors, marking the end of an era. Not only did the community lose a trusted place to get cars repaired, but it also lost a vital third space—one that many people relied on for connection as much as service. Tire City will always be remembered for the heart it brought to Montgomery Street and Savannah, GA.
