THICK AS THIEVES is a duo exhibition of the work of Liam V. Gildea and Will Crutchfield. The show meets at the intersection of painting and photography, including a medley of analog photography, painting, and sculptural assemblage works. The collection of work aims to analyze these diverging methods of documentation and to find unity within variance.
By creating a dialogue between their bodies of work, the duo aims to explore and analyze the perception of material culture, as well as contemporary modes of documentation, preservation, and manipulation. Using The Nest Gallery as a proverbial dining table, thick as thieves is a communion of two mediums, a potluck of diverging methods of documenting the world.
